Permaculture Education, Action and Community Empowerment (PEACE) Foundation is grass root community based not for profit humanitarian and development organization responding to and challenging the effects and causes of climate change, poverty and marginalization through permaculture education and facilitating community action(s) for sustainability in Uganda’s rural district of Bundibugyo on the extreme border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
PEACE Foundation Bundibugyo is a registered Community Based Organisation , certified by Bundibugyo District Local Government’s Department of Community Based Services, registration No. 3989. We are located in Mirambi subcounty -Bundibugyo district.
At PEACE Foundation, We believe that critical issues affecting society and individuals within a community need collective input, involvement and prioritization through social action and policy considerations.
PEACE Building works with and supports the Batwa to adapt to the changing world dynamics due to climate crisis. Through permaculture, PEACE Foundation reminds the Batwa of their rich indigenous knowledge and sustainability practices.
Permaculture is an opportunity helping us in restore lost social, environment and economic hopes at community level. At household level, this comes with strengthened household capacities as part of the broader ecosystem.
