Climate crisis in Bundibugyo and Ntoroko districts disorients livelihoods, economic activities and access to education. Nestled in the Albertine Rift, Bundibugyo and Ntoroko are regions rich in biodiversity and cultural heritage. However, climate change poses a serious threat to their environmental integrity and socio-economic stability. Floods have disrupted economic activities, livelihoods, settlements and the environment. Short term assistance and durable interventions are urgently needed to help these communities with food and non-food items as well are supporting climate resilient permaculture design work and trainings
PEACE FOUNDATION’s ED is privileged to join one of the community groups from Butama IV village, Mirambi sub county Bundibugyo district and well supported by its Programs as its members were harvesting egg plants/nkedhengu/entonga. Members of the group were provided with vegetable seedlings which they planted and have been harvesting to support their group members food wise. They harvest every after two days with each member taking home a share for the family. The harvest is expected to continue through the year. Members have tested and witnessed growing of vegetables based on organic farming practices. Some of the members attended
