About us

Permaculture Education, Action and Community Empowerment (PEACE) Foundation is grass root community based not for profit humanitarian and development organization responding to and challenging the effects and causes of climate change, poverty and marginalization through permaculture education and facilitating community action(s) for sustainability in Uganda’s rural district of Bundibugyo on the extreme border with the Democratic Republic of Congo.

PEACE Foundation Bundibugyo is a registered Community Based Organisation , certified by Bundibugyo District Local Government’s Department of Community Based Services, registration No. 3989. We are located in Mirambi subcounty -Bundibugyo district.

Our Vision: A hunger free society where every household is free from food stress and every child is free from malnutrition and every soul matters. 

Our Mission: To unlock human potentials and accelerate capacities for resilience, inclusion and sustainability. We strive to be good stewards of nature, humanity, fostering opportunities for peaceful and health living through permaculture education, community empowerment actions and cultural exchange.

Our Goal: Building sustainability for nature, human livelihoods and bio diversities for the future.

Our Objectives

  1. To create an educational space and facilitate learning for resilient and sustainable permaculture land use practices.
  2. To facilitate restoration and foster soil and ecosystems regeneration for sustainable human livelihoods
  3. To eradicate extreme hunger and acute malnutrition conditions and facilitate positive adaptation to climate change in communities.
  4. To promote peace building, cultural exchange and ecotourism
