In the current era, the world is undergoing severe and unprecedented climate and ecological dynamics much more than ever. And these risk the future of both humanity, biodiversity and planet earth itself. Traditional and conventional practices no longer yield sustainable solutions as they increasingly demean life and biodiversity. At the centre of permaculture is climate sensitivity and agro-ecological consciousness that informs permaculture design practice. PEACE Foundation recognises importance of and promotes permaculture practices, techniques and approaches, careful selection, planning and establishment of design elements based on their contribution in shaping/fostering the local ecosystems regenerative capacity. Through this we create and foster organic farming pathways for small holder farmers and farmer groups. This intensified through multi-stakeholder initiatives and advocacy work aimed at influencing social change and action.
Access to Clean Energy Technologies
With the increasing human population, growing housing and habit, cooking and transport fossils deplete more wood energy and endanger human health especially among women and children. PEACE Foundation recognizes that with wood loss/depletion alongside continued use of inefficient cooking stoves, where many women must walk up to several kilometres to collect firewood. Collecting firewood is not only physically demanding, but also involves high opportunity costs and violence against women and children.
